A follow-up to "Introducing ShowTrack AI" — this time, let's get specific.
In our first post, we talked about the big picture — how agricultural education is stuck in the past, and how ShowTrack AI is built to change that. The response was incredible. Hundreds of students, parents, and educators signed up for the waitlist.
But the number one question we keep getting is simple:
"Okay, but what does it actually DO?"
Fair question. Let's walk through a real day.
5:45 AM — The Alarm Goes Off
You drag yourself out of bed, pull on your boots, and head to the barn. Your goat needs to eat. But here's the thing most people outside of ag don't understand: what you feed, how much you feed, and when you feed — it all matters. A lot.
The difference between a show-ready animal and one that's 15 pounds off target often comes down to daily feeding decisions that nobody taught you how to make.
This is where ShowTrack AI starts your day.
Before you even open the feed bag, the app tells you what to feed today — based on your animal's current weight, target weight, days until show, and rate of gain. It tells you how much — adjusted from yesterday's weigh-in and this week's trend. And it tells you whether to change anything — if your animal gained too fast, too slow, or stalled out.
No guessing. No calling your ag teacher at 6 AM. No Googling "goat feed schedule" and hoping the advice fits your situation.
6:15 AM — You Weigh In
You step your animal on the scale. One tap in the app logs the weight. That's it. But behind that single number, ShowTrack AI is doing a lot — calculating your average daily gain (ADG) over the last 7, 14, and 30 days, comparing your animal's growth curve to your target show weight, flagging if the trend is off, and updating tomorrow's feed recommendation based on what just happened today.
You don't have to do any of that math. You don't have to keep a spreadsheet. You weigh in, and the app tells you whether you're on track.
3:30 PM — After School Check-In
You swing by the barn after school. The app reminds you it's PM feed time. You log it — takes about 10 seconds.
But here's what's happening in the background that matters for your FFA record: that feeding session is logged as an AET activity. The health observation you noted this morning is mapped to a competency. The total hours you've spent this week are already calculated.
You're not doing extra work. You're doing the same work you've always done — feeding, weighing, observing — and ShowTrack AI is turning it into your educational record automatically.
7:00 PM — Your Parent Checks In
Your mom or dad opens the app with their own login — we take privacy seriously, especially for students under 13 with our COPPA-compliant consent system. They see your animal's weight trend, feed costs so far this project, days until the show, and a simple status: "On Track" or "Needs Attention."
No awkward "how's your project going?" conversations where nobody has real answers. The data is right there.
9:00 PM — Your Ag Teacher Reviews the Class
Your educator opens their dashboard. Across 30+ students, they can see who weighed in this week (and who didn't), which animals are trending below target, who might need a feed adjustment conversation, and overall class compliance with AET documentation.
No chasing down paper logs. No end-of-semester scramble. Real-time visibility into every project in the program.
That's It. That's the Product.
We're not trying to replace the hard work. The early mornings, the daily commitment, the relationship you build with your animal — that's the whole point of agricultural education, and no app can replace it.
What we can replace is the guesswork. "Am I feeding the right amount?" — Yes, here's your plan. "Is my animal gaining enough?" — Here's your trend. "Did I document enough for my degree?" — You're at 67% of requirements, here's what's left. "How do I know if I'm doing this right?" — You're on track. Keep going.
What's Coming Next
In our next post, we'll go deeper on the AI behind the feed recommendations — how ShowTrack AI learns from thousands of data points to give you advice that's specific to your animal, your breed, your show date, and your goals.
ShowTrack AI is currently in private beta with select FFA chapters in Texas. Waitlist members get priority access as we expand.
